Allison Chinchar works as a weather forecaster for CNN and HLN. She has a presence on CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. Prior to she joined CNN in June 2015, she was employed by several local radio stations, which included those in Atlanta and Nashville. She has reported on hurricanes, floods, wildfires and even the occurrence of blizzards. In the year 2019 she was nominated for the Emmy award for reporting on the hurricane Dorian which was a hurricane in the Bahamas. Then she was a part of an event known as the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011. More than 350 tornadoes struck the Southeastern United States in just four days. More than 200 occurring on April 27th. She's covered the effects of climate change but has also covered earthquakes and volcanoes due to her expertise in environmental science. Chinchar has a bachelor's degree of Atmospheric Science, which she obtained from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is an active member of several organizations, including the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
